Welcome

The Asset Management Society, India (AMSI) journey started in 2014 with asset management workshops, summer schools in IIT Kharagpur and first one day Asset Management conference in Ramakrishna Mission Golpark, Kolkata, and then ongoing activities supported by many organisations including Tata Steel and Coal India and many others. Asset Management Council (AMC), Australia, the premier asset management professional body in Australia offered outstanding support to AMSI in Australiana, India and global collaboration and cooperation for Asset Management.

Endeavour Fellow funding, Australian government, related to Maintenance and Reliability and Asset Management supported by Federation University and Manipal Academy of Higher Education in 2018 resulted in joint workshops organised in Gippsland, Australia by Federation University and Asset Management Council. Conference and workshops in Manipal 2020 and Hyderabad in 2019 further enhanced the progress to the formation of the society.

International Conference in Maintenance and Intelligent Asset Management (ICMIAM2020) had a panel discussion on the formation of AMSI and all the delegates present were of the opinion that we should go ahead and form the society. This has undoubtedly happened with the help and support of leaders in asset management in India, Australia, Sweden, UK and New Zealand.

Looking forward to the future there are exciting days ahead for AMSI. ICMIAM2021 is being organised (in hybrid mode) by Fed Uni, Asset Management Council, IIT Kharagpur, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, IRMA, Lulea University of Technology and Huddersfield University in the Ballarat campus of Federation University. A host of other activities are being planned in asset management including COVID related webinar’s.
